We fished 5:30am to 1:00pm on 5-9-04 at Cherry Creek, 7 miles north of
Port Sanilac. It rained all morning. We caught 2 small kings (5-6 lbs)
one on leadcore 3 colors back and one on a dipsy/doger fly combo 120 ft
back and one 5 lb steelhead on leadcore 3 colors back all in 75 FOW.
Most reports were similar. Best catches were from those that went
further north after lake trout. The lakers were co-operating for those
who fished them. There doesn't seem to be any decent size kings around
here. We've been out 3 times now and have not caught a king over 6 lbs
and in the three tournaments we fished only one king came in over 10
lbs. Hope they show up soon.
