1995 22ft islander that spends most its time searching Lake Huron salmon and trout .Equipment list includes: Raytheon Sportpilot+, Raytheon L470fishgraph,loran, wash-down pump, 19 rodholders and a moor subtroll, trimtabs and a 140hp evinrude.  This vessel has a sea drive style mounting system, which affords more room at the transom.  It also has 4 Big Jon Riggers and Planer Mast.  Canvas enclosure makes this boat an all season threat. 
The boat is named the "Hard Times"

Full canvas around is custom made, so I can stand up inside, stay out of wind and weather and fends off the inevitable spray on the return trip. I normally fish 4 rods but have had 9 out at one time using big boards. BJ electrics for downriggers.   Electronics include Lowrance X15mt, Lowrance lms350, Furumo 16 mile radar, two GPS units, ship to shore radio and cell phone.   Home port is Manistee, Michigan.

"Bobby's Toy" is a 1987 225 Saber Crestliner with a 165 Mercruiser enclosed cooling I/O.  Equipment is as follows: Lowrance X-85 fishfinder, Ray Marine 320 GPS/Chartplotter, 840 Fish Hawk. Atlantic Towers hard top with rocket launcher and spreader lights with full customer enclosure, 4 manual Luhr Jenson Downriggers and 8 rod holders, 6 Tite -Loc adjustable rod holders. I fish all major ports with my fish club, the Detroit Area Steelheaders. Lake Michigan is my favorite lake, Manistee and Ludington are my favorite ports.......Capt. Bob Jones

Capt. John's Rig is a 1987 Cherokee 28 foot Sport Fisherman with twin 350 Crusaders .  It's equipped with Fishlander Riggers and a full array of Raytheon Electronics.  The unique features on this vessel include: 2 warm-water car style heaters, electric flush marine head and 66 rod holders mounted from amidships to across the transom.  Home port is Manistee and South Haven during the month of May.  This vessel is inspected & licensed for hire by the DNR. Boat name is: "King Fish"

Capt. Bob Kietzman's "Getaway" is a 1997 221v Starcraft Islander w/HO 4.3ltr v6.  Electronics include: Eagle ultra classic fishfinder and Sitex paper graph at the stern Lowrance Global Map GPS and  4 Scotty electric riggers.  Bob is also a port reporter and an outstanding contributor to our message board.  He fishes Lake Huron often and has the April Brown Trout zeroed in off Tawas like a pro.

Mark Oldenburg
DiverDown.jpg (26341 bytes) The "Diver Down" is a 24ft 1988 Bayliner Trophy 2450 with Chevy/OMC V8 and OMC Cobra outdrive. Equipped with 4 Walker electrics, full array of electronics (can't have too many can you?) Custom made stainless steel rocket launcher and "board rod" rod holders, Big John mast reels mounted to the hard top and according to the wife way to much tackle! What do they know!!! The only thing I need now is radar and I'll be a happy man. Docked in Ludington...........Capt. Aaron VanBennekom

Here's My rig the "Triton."  She's a 26' Formula, powered by a 454.  It's equipped with 4 Cannon 10a's, Lowrance LMS 350.  Speed/Temp at cannonball. We spend our time fishing the waters off Harbor Beach on the "Sun Rise" side.

1995 Searay Express Cruiser,  5.0 Mercruiser,  2 Cannon Unitrolls on the sides, 1 Cannon Digi-Trol off back, 1 manual invader off the back,  8 other Tite-lock rod holders, Bottomline HR Tournament Master fishfinder, Magellon 320 GPS, VHF radio.   This is both the family boat for tubing/skiing and then can be transformed into a decent fishing machine in a matter of minutes.   My second year in the sport and was out 40 times last year including the time at the John King fishing Seminar.

My boat is a 25' 1990 Sea Sprite  Cuddy. The picture is before I added 2 walker temperature sensor electric downriggers and two regular walker electric downriggers. The electronics include a Lowrance 3000mapplus and a Raymarine L750 fish finder. I also have added 18 rod holders in various positions. The boat itself has one in floor live well and raw water wash along with a nice cuddy complete with refrig, stove, and AM/FM Cass. 175 Merc and 15hp Merc kicker.

Also, I like to mention John did a superb job as First Mate on several charters during the 2002 season.  His dedication and steady work ethic didn't go unnoticed, and was much appreciated by me.....Capt. John King

"TERRYS TOY" Is a 1999 Crestline 24.5 Eagle w/hardtop. Powered by 4.3 V6 Volvo w/ Evin. 9.9-4 stroke kicker. I have 3 electric and one manual Cannon downriggers, 18' outriggers on hard top. My electronics include 840 Fish Hawk, Raymarine SL72 Radar, Raymarine 300 GPS, Raymarine sport pilot and a new addition this winter, a Furuno FL600 color locator. I have 30 rod holders for my 16 rods and reels. I start fishing in Winthrop Harbor IL to Algoma, WI.  I fish a long ways out and can sometimes hear Michigan boats (Ch. 68)...........Capt. 1975 Searay 240SRV w/twin 140 I/O's. This boat was purchased in Oct 2001 found sitting by a barn after being out of water for 4 years. Only thing not rebuilt were the motors, everything else was redone, The "Sam I Am" has on board the Lowrance x15-mt, Big Jon downriggers, Tite-Lok triple rack rod holders along with a set of Diver Down custom rod holders. Normally running out of Ludington Port, However being trailered will also fish out of Manistee and Pentwater.............Capt. Sam Bannister

1978 Starcraft , 25ft Length. 165hp Mercruiser I/O, Hummingbird fishfinder, and Hummingbird GPS, Cannon elect. riggers, Penn Rods and Daiwa Reels. Hummingbird VHF handheld. Boat has head, fridge, stove, full shore power connection (including cable TV), and sleeps two comfortably for overnights.  I acquired entire rig and gear (with trailer) from widow in Onekama for $5000 3 years ago. I though I'd died and gone to heaven, however...I've just died and gone fishin'.......Capt. Dick Wettergreen

It is equipped with a 3.0 Mercruiser, 4 Big Jon manual downriggers, 16 rod holders, Raytheon L365 fishfinder, Magellan meridian marine handheld GPS, Arorua plus vhf radio. I trailer this boat to any port but fish mostly out of Grand Haven/Port Sheldon.

and with a Uniden VHF, Delco tape deck with equalizer and amp,
Garmin 12 GPS hard mounted, and a Raytheon L-750 with a Lowrance X-55. On the business end hang two Walker Captain's packs & a pair of Invaders, with 8 Tite-lok holder. The Twilight Zone is based in

Along with 6 Titelock rail mount holders that will be added this year and 2 pursuits dipsy holders. Riggers are all on pursuit tracks. 13 rods and reels. Brand new custom canvas just made. Retriver_2.jpg (29061 bytes) The "Retriever 2" is a 1989 24' Penn Yan Contender with 5L Mercruiser and comes equipped with Furuno color 582L and Lowrance X85 fishfinders, Lowrance Globalmap GPS, JRC 1500 radar, FishHawk 840, Icom VHF, 4 Cannon mag 10's, Flo-jet fresh water washdown, Raymarine Sportspilot autopilot and a 5 blade SS prop for extra traction. Most important feature is that the boat has ' good karma ' for catching fish.

Electronics: Foruno 1622 radar, Bottomline tournament sonar, Apelco GPS/loran, Cannon speed/temp probe, Cetrek/Seastar autopilot with remote, Sitex radio, am/fm/radio and tape.  Joystick operated forward spotlight and floodlite for aft-deck. Pump-out head. Trimtabs, dual windshield wipers and fans. The interior is loaded with teak, which my wife refinished over the winter. Very eye catching!  So, lots of new things to learn this year! 25' Parker XL Pilot House with 4 large captain chairs in the pilot house. 4 stroke Yamaha'smain engine is a 250HP and the kicker is a 9.9 HP. Electronics are 2 Raymarine color multifunction C 80's. I use one just for my fishfinder and the other 1 for my chartplotter and 48 mile range radar.  Raymarine 218 DSC VHF marine radio with hailer. Fish hawk 840, and a JBL Sirius marine radio with 4 speakers. I have 4 Big Jon Brute ES electric downriggers, 2 multi set rod holder tree's with 3 rod holders on both of them. 2 triple multi set rod holders on pedestal's. Rocket launcher has 13 rod holders that they call west coast style on hard top. 2 big Jon planer reels with a total of 33 rod holders counting the 8 on the riggers.
