Let's try something here fisherman are not noted for the "TRUTH".

Manistee boasts some amazing credentials

1. Site of the original Great Lakes Salmon Plantings in 1966   (Bear Creek).

2. Home of the former State Record Steelhead  25.5 lbs.

3. Approximately  million fish (Salmonoids) planted annually.

4. 50 to 70% of the Master Angler King Salmon (Chinook)  are caught in this County over 27 lbs., more than any other place in the State. Just Check with the M.D.N.R.

5. Beautiful scenery and pristine sugar sand beaches.

6. Little Manistee River Harvest Weir where they collect the eggs for the Chinook Salmon Program.

7. Home of the State Record Brown Trout approx. 35 lbs.

8. Tournament Capital of Michigan with more money paid out here than any place in the State.

9. A large Safe Harbor with great piers for fishing.

10.I need the Business and it would appreciate the opportunity to share a great day with you.

Manistee is called "The Victorian Port City" and has a River Walk that runs from U.S. 31 to the First Street Beach.  While I don't gamble myself, the Little River Casino is located just north of town at M-22 and U.S. 31.
